FAQ about Korean Lash Lifts

Lashes glued up to a lash lift shield during the Korean lash lift technique.
  • There are a few key differences with a Korean lash lift vs. a traditional lash lift and is more about the technique, ingredients used, and styling.  Overall, a Korean lash lift minimizes potential damage to the lashes and also restores nourishment and hydration to ensure a healthy lash lifts.

  • Yes, however, it isn’t recommended. If the lashes are short, it is recommended to use a growth serum for at least 8-10 weeks consistently to add length for the best results.

  • 1) Please arrive on time to your appointment, this is one service you do not want to rush!!

    2) Come without any eye makeup. Please remove mascara before you arrive!

    3) Refrain from energy drinks/pills or caffeine. They can make your eyes flutter during the service.

    4) You can wear EarPods and listen to music or podcasts.

  • Clients that have very short lashes, damaged lashes, or sparse lashes. Or if you have extremely sensitive eyes. Although the solution will not get into the eyes, the lashes and eye area will be gently taped, and lashes will be adhered. Please refrain from booking this service if your eyes are extremely sensitive and prone to tearing.

  • Yes, you can still wear mascara after a lash lift, but it's important to choose a water-based, non-waterproof formula and be gentle when removing it. Coconut oil is highly recommended to remove eye makeup without damaging the lash lift.

  • As with any beauty treatment, lash lifts come with potential risks and side effects, which may include: over processing, over curling, inconsistent results, and dehydrated, fried lashes. As a result, to avoid risks, it’s important to choose an esthetician who is experienced and trained in the Korean lash lift technique like Wax Appeal Hawaii.

  • Lash lifts can be redone anywhere between 5-7 weeks for consistency.

  • Yes! You can get them wet on the same day as your lash lift. It is a myth that you cannot get them wet after a lash lift! I recommend waiting at least 4 hours before wetting, but essentially, you cannot undo or damage a lash lift with water and nothing will happen if you were to get them wet.

  • There is little to no risk doing lash lifts while pregnant, the solutions don’t sit on the skin or waterline throughout the service. The only risk would be the lashes changing composition due to hormones, leading to a lift that doesn’t take or grows out quicker. Another thing to consider is how long you’re able to lie flat comfortably for 45 minutes-1 hour.
